Student of the Year 2 stars Tara Sutaria, Ananya Panday and Tiger Shroff in the lead roles.

Student of the Year 2, starring Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria, is all set to hit the screens on May 10. Before that, the cast members have been on the cover of many of glossy magazines, the latest being Brides Today. Designer Manish Malhotra, who has done all the clothes for the photoshoot, shared some new pictures.

Manish has been sharing pictures from the said shoot for the past couple of days and his latest two pictures show Tiger and Ananya in one frame while Tara graces a solo. Some time back, Tara and Ananya were on the cover of the May edition of Hello magazine too, while Ananya has done a shoot for Elle magazine as well.

Student of the Year 2, a sequel of Karan Johar’s Student of the Year, is a college campus romance in which Tiger plays a kabaddi player in the college team. The film’s trailer, when it released, was ridiculed for its larger-than-life portrayal of college life. However, the film’s songs, particularly The Jawaani Song, have been well received. The original was a 1972 classic Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani from Jawani Diwani starring Jaya Bachchan and Randhir Kapoor in the lead. Three more songs -- Fakira, Hook Up and Mumbai Dilli Di Kudiyaan have also worked with fans. Hook Up song features Alia Bhatt, who began her career with Student of the Year (2012), with Tiger Shroff in a special appearance.

Ever since the promotions of the film began, Ananya has had to field questions on nepotism as she is the daughter of actor Chunky Panday. Speaking about it, she told Mumbai Mirror that being a star kid is half the battle won. She said: “That’s half the battle won.” However, she also added if one isn’t talented, rejection can follow soon. She said: “If you’re not talented, people won’t invest in you. Period. But at the same time, I don’t want to be silly and give up an opportunity like this because people are bashing me for being someone’s daughter. If they don’t like me in the film, I’ll will accept that, but at least watch the film.”

The film has been helmed by Punit Malhotra. It is Karan Johar production.
