AP-Genco Director (Finance) and A.P. Power Utilities Sub-Committee member G. Adinarayana has informed that the last date for submitting options for allocation of power sector employees between A.P. and Telangana utilities has been extended up to May 15.
Employees who can exercise their options are all State cadre employees working in AP-Genco and AP-Transco and in the headquarters of both those corporations in Vijayawada and all State - cadre employees who were working in Anantapur and Kurnool districts of the erstwhile AP-Central Power Distribution Company Limited and allocated to AP-SPDCL together with 72 employees from the CPDCL headquarters.
According to official sources, the options being given by employees would be examined by the two-member sub-committee comprising Mr. Adinarayana and TS-Genco director (HR) S. Ashok Kumar and they would report to Justice (retd.) D.M. Dharmadhikari who was appointed by the Supreme Court to oversee the allocation of State-cadre employees between power utilities of the two States.
A meeting in this regard is scheduled to be held in the last week of May.
Justice Dharmadhikari is expected to take stock of the situation in the context of a fresh petition filed by Telangana employees in the apex court seeking clarity on the modalities of allocation finalised recently. The entire process is, therefore, likely to be a protracted one.
