PATNA: Priyanshu Kumar of DAV Public School (BSEB Colony) emerged the topper of Patna region in the Class X examination conducted by the
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the results of which were declared on Monday. Priyanshu scored 99% (495 out of 500 marks).
Gargi Raj of St Michael’s High School, Aditi Anjan of Notre Dame Academy and Pratha Banka of Trident Public School, Muzaffarpur shared the second position with 494 marks. Harsh Raj of St Joseph’s School, Bhagalpur and Govind Kumar of SD Vidyapeeth, Samastipur shared the third rank with 493 marks.
Overall, girls outshone boys again with a pass percentage of 93.14%. Boys recorded a pass percentage of 91.18%.
St Michael’s High School, Notre Dame Academy, Loyola High School, Delhi Public School, Gyan Niketan (Girls and Boys wings), Dr GL Dutta DAV Public School, DAV Khagaul, Bishop Scott Girl’s School, International School, Ishaan International Public School, St Karen’s Secondary School and St Karen’s High School have achieved 100% results.
DAV (BSEB) principal VS Ojha said the school has recorded 99.57% pass percentage. “Of the total 470 students, 88 scored above 90% and 225 scored 80%. At least 391 passed with first division while remaining 77 figured in the second division. Two students failed in the exam,” he said.
Patna region has performed better in Class X than in Class XII examination with an overall pass percentage at 91.86%. There is 4.06% improvement compared to the last year’s result of 87.8%. However, Patna region, which includes Bihar and Jharkhand, has slipped from 5th position last year to 7th place among the ten regions of CBSE.
Total 1,99,060 candidates, including 69,165 girls, appeared for the Class X exam and 1,82,859 succeeded. The examination was held between February 21 and March 29.
According to a CBSE press release, total 15,068 students are eligible to appear for the compartment exam.
