Search for man missing from jet ski on the Sunshine Coast called off
The search for a man believed to have slipped from the back of a jet ski off a Sunshine Coast beach has been called off.
The man had been in the ocean off Mudjimba Beach, between Old Woman Island and Twin Waters, since about 1.35pm on Monday, when the incident was first reported to police.
A helicopter had been helping Sunshine Coast water police search for the man, who was believed to have been fishing.
"The water police are searching for a man missing from the back of a jet ski," a police spokeswoman said on Monday afternoon.
"He has been missing for about two hours."
But that search was called off at 4.30pm.
The Sunshine Coast's criminal investigation branch has been advised of the disappearance of the man, who was reportedly a good swimmer.
The search for the man resumes at 4.30am on Tuesday.
