BHOPAL: Contest in Bhopal Lok Sabha constituency has become a talk of the nation due to fielding an accused in terrorist activities of Pragya Thakur, said social activist Swami Agnivesh, while talking to media, here on Sunday. The Swami came to Bhopal to campaign for Congress candidate of Bhopal Lok Sabha constituency Digvijaya Singh. Sharing his views he said Sadhvi Pragya Thakur who is the Bhopal BJP candidate indicates about the working of RSS in the country.
He claimed that he had visited Bhopal along with the BJP leader Manu Singhvi and Satpal Singh to meet Pragya in jail in 2010. He said that after meeting her in jail, he found the lady’s health is not in good condition and she needed immediate medical assistance. He demanded that Pragya be released on bail, while the case may continue to progress. He alleged later Pragya gave an interview in which she had blamed him (Swami) that he had met her on the instructions of the then home minister P Chidambaramb.
He claimed that he is having dispute with the Congress leaders and he had filed the petition against them and Pragya is imposing false allegation on him. He also raised the issue of diksha which was given by the Guru Avdeshnand, “I personally feel that Avdeshnand would not accept such a student or sishya.” He asked, “What made the BJP to give ticket to an accused in a terrorist acts?”
“The party should have not given the ticket to such a person,” he added. He also asked that “By nature of a Sadhu or a Sadhvi should be humble, loving, among other good qualities, but this Sadhvi is arrested in a criminal case which is against the nation.” He alleged that “The RSS had destroyed the Hindu culture and are still working in the field. The damage whatever this organisation had done to Hindu has not been done by any other people in the history of the country.”
