Police raid resort near Chennai, nab 160 revellers

CHENNAI: Police raided a resort at Pattipulam near Chennai and nabbed around 160 people, including six women, who were boozing and partying there.
The Kancheepuram district police raided the resort after receiving information that rowdies had gathered there to celebrate someone’s birthday. However, they later found that there were no anti-socials in the party.
Police registered a case against the resort owner for illegally organising the party. They took an undertaking from all those who were nabbed from the resort and let them go.

A few days ago, police raided a resort in Pollachi in Coimbatore district and arrested around 150 people for boozing and taking drugs.
In 2018, around 200 rowdies gathered in an open space at Kundrathur near Chennai to celebrate the birthday of gangster Binu Pappachan. Police nabbed many of them. Binu, who managed to escape then, was arrested later.
