Despite ban on entry of two-wheelers into the municipal bus stand, vehicles continue to enter the premises and were parked infront of the shops and on platforms causing inconvenience to commuters and parking of buses.

With entry of other vehicles inside the bus stand causing congestion, the district police had banned the entry of two-wheelers, autorickshaws and cars inside the bus stand. A warning board was also placed at the entrance against entry of these vehicles. But many two-wheeler riders continue to violate the rules and park their vehicles at the platforms and areas where buses were parked. This causes inconvenience while parking buses, said a private bus driver who wanted the ban to be enforced strictly. Many said that two-wheelers of shopkeepers and persons who come to pick up small luggages park their vehicles in-between the parked buses, in platforms and infront of the shops.

These parked vehicles disturb the movement of commuters, said V. Kamalam, a commuter. She said that senior citizens and people who carry luggages face hardship as they cannot move on platforms due to the encroachments. They wanted action to be initiated against the violators.
