GHAZIABAD: An FIR has been registered under the Information Technology (IT) Act against a woman for allegedly posting an “indecent” comment on chief minister
Yogi Adityanath on
Facebook, police said on Sunday.
The accused, an advocate, had commented in a post on the social media website that she would kiss Adityanath if he resolved her problems, the police said. The cops said that the Facebook post was made on March 22, 2017.
The woman, a resident of Sahibabad, has been booked under Section 67 (publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form) of the IT Act on a complaint at Sihani Gate police station.
The complainant Prashant Kumar, a resident of Govindpuram, said there were several cases registered against her at various police stations across the state. Kumar, who is a businessman, alleged that the woman has been involved in maligning the name of several senior government officials and businessmen from time to time.
Kumar claimed that an FIR had previously been registered at a police station in Hathras in this regard.
“I felt aggrieved after I came to know about the post. The woman had not removed it even after the first FIR. I lodged a complaint after which another FIR was registered on Sunday,” he said.
SHO (Sihani Gate) Sanjay Kumar Pandey said an investigation is underway.
