Surat: A woman jumped to her death from the fourth floor of her residential building on Udhna Main road on Sunday.
Kavita Bava (38), who was living in Arihant Complex, used to work as a teacher at a government school but was on leave due to her mental illness.
It is assumed that Bava had jumped off her apartment between 12.45am and 6.30am on Sunday. The building’s guard found her dead in the morning and informed the family.
A police official from Udhna said the family was awake and together till 12.30am. After that, all of them went to sleep and the woman jumped to her death.
The woman, who was mother of two children, wrote in her suicide note that she was fed up of her illness. It added that no one should be held responsible for her death.
Police have confirmed about the suicide note. Police have got the postmortem done and are investigating the case, which looks like that of a suicide.
Bava had been under treatment for mental illness since past four months in Patan. She had spent the past week at a doctor’s clinic in Patan.
Her husband, Shantipuri Bava, who was employed in the textile sector, had given up the job to take care of her and their children few months back.
