Witness speaks out after shooting near University of Oregon\'s campus

News" we begin tonight in eugene..where one person was shot and killed -- near a popular university of oregon bar -- just steps away from campus.

Thank you for joining us tonight...i'm amber wilmarth.

We're hearing now from a witness who lives right next to the parking lot on 13th and kincaid where police say the shooting happened .

Kezi 9 news reporter madison glassman spoke with that student who says he was with the victim when he took his final breath.

Madison says, "the alpha omega house is sandwhiched between taylor's bar and grill and the parking lot here on 13th and kincaid where police say the shooting happened.

I spoke with one student who saw shots fired...even saw a bullet hit one of these windows and ran outside to figure out what was going on."

Sot: "i hear skirt...and i see two flashes."

Spencer wilson was home at the alpha omega house when shots ring out around 2 a.m.

Sot: "it was crazy like i was sick to my stomach immedoate;y."

That ill feeling didn't stop...in fact, it got worse.

Wilson says he saw the victim lying on the ground with a bullet hole in his chest.

Sot: "that's when i was like okay...i need to start praying."

Wilson says he saw the shooter flee in a black car...as he stood there with the victim's friends...as the victim took his last breath.

Sot: "i'm going off of what i can remeber.

I'm just in shock of seeing someone get shot like that and watching them die right frickin here."

The victim's identify is unknown -- but police say the victim is not affiliated with the university.

No arrests have been made at this time.
