WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
***1/2
7.30pm, SBS
As a general rule, you need to have walked through the gate of mortality awareness to fully appreciate your genealogy, let alone someone else’s. Former Book Club host, Jennifer Byrne, eloquently describes this acquired interest in those who have gone before, but not until the final, moving moments of her ascent of her family tree. Hers is as fascinating a history as any unearthed here, with an exceptionally impressive ancestral connection.
LEGO MASTERS
***
7.30pm, Nine
Host Hamish Blake subverts the genre at every turn in this jolly competition nattily timed to coincide with the cinema release of The Lego Movie 2. The message pushed by the movie franchise about creative play is reinforced here, with contestants required to attach stories to their miniature kingdoms. In tonight’s elimination episode, they must also pass a “swooshability” test. This is the fun flip side to the reality format. Let’s hope its niceness isn’t its downfall.
NCIS

9pm, Ten
This crafty naval police series sure knows how to read the room. In an America increasingly frustrated by the authoritarian status quo, vigilante justice is the order of the day. Stumbling across a secret government bank account, the tight knit team of righteous warriors chase down the ideologists responsible. For a group of people trained to follow the letter of the law, they can be a pretty open-minded bunch. Viva la revolution!
