In MP’s Betul, tribal voters take eight hours to reach the polling booth

Almost 300-tribal village voters in Betul, Madhya Pradesh take eight hours to reach the polling booth in 42-degrees heat. These Korku tribals live in an inaccessible forest village, Bhandarpani about 90 km from Betul. The only reason these villagers will vote is the fear of getting their names eliminated from the voters list. Despite being ignored, no one in the village seemed reluctant to vote. The villagers believe voting will help them get a road and a pucca school building. The villagers seem to know only two candidates. PM Modi and MP’s chief minister Kamal Nath. Betul goes to polls in the fifth phase of the general election on May 6.
