40-year-old allegedly woman abducted, gang-raped in Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh
The incident happened on May 1 but came to light on May 3 after the victim lodged a complaint against the two on Saturday, police said. Both the accused have been arrested.

The incident happened on May 1 but came to light on May 3 after the victim lodged a complaint against the two on Saturday, police said. Both the accused have been arrested.
“As per her complaint, while she was sleeping, the two accused, identified as Arjun Ram, a labourer and Himanshu Kumar, a driver, came to her house and abducted her. They then took her to the nearby jungle about 100m away and raped her,” said a police officer.
The two accused threatened her with dire consequences if she told anyone about the incident. The woman told her family members who approached police and a case was registered.
The two accused were arrested from Munsiyari road on Saturday. They are being interrogated by the police and will be produced in court soon, said a police officer.
