Pakistan vs England, PAK vs ENG T20I: Eoin Morgan punched the air in celebration as he danced down the track to smack a six and collect a big 7-wicket win for England against the top-ranked Pakistan in Cardiff. Chasing 174 for the win, England had James Vince, Joe Root and then Morgan doing the job even as the required rate climbed past 10 runs an over.

Pakistan’s poor fielding played a role in England chasing down the target.

Earlier, Pakistan finished on a high with Chris Jordan going for 16 runs as the visitors post 173/6 from 20 overs. At the get go, Pakistan lost couple of early wickets before Babar Azam and Haris Sohail steadied the ship. They put together 103 runs for the third wicket to take Pakistan towards a strong position.

Trying to up the ante, they lost wickets and the momentum. Imad Wasim and Faheem Ashraf provided a flourish in the final over to take Pakistan to 173/6.

PAK vs ENG T20I, Pakistan vs England: As it happened

SIX! England win!

Eoin Morgan gets the job done! Comes down the track and smacks the short delivery straight down the ground for a six! What a win! England had players injured, rested players and they've beaten the World No. 1 side! Morgan punches the air in celebration. England win by 7 wickets with four balls to go

Eoin Morgan fifty

Eoin Morgan collects  a double from the first ball of the over. Gets the applause from his teammates and the fans. Goes back to his business. There's a game to win!

Final over

England need 7 runs from 6 balls. Eoin Morgan and Joe Denly in the middle. Faheem Ashraf to try and defend it

England need 11 from 11

WHAT A START TO THE PENULTIMATE OVER! Pitched up by Shaheen and Denly goes deep in his crease to relax his arms. Pumps it over deep mid wicket. Great shot!

FOUR!

England need 29 from 18 balls. Will they get it? Hasan Ali into the attack. And he's immediately hit for a boundary. Poor delivery to start with. Fulltoss, outside off and Morgan says thank you! Blitzes it over the mid-off fielder to collect a boundary

FOUR!

Denly finds the gap between extra cover and long off to collect a boundary. England are not out of it. Not at all. They need 29 runs from 18 balls.

GONE!

An off cutter from Hasan Ali is banged shot, Joe Root with a pre-meditated shot, tried to scoop it late on but gets the thinnest of edges behind to Sarfraz. No confusion there. No need for the DRS either. Root walks back a frustrated man. He is gone for 47 from 42 balls. England are 131/3. Is that game over?

SIX!

That's the start they needed. Eoin Morgan whips away a slower delivery, from a no ball, towards fine leg for a six. From the free hit, they can only get a single. Hit straight at long on.

52 needed from 30 balls

Joe Root is on 46 and Eoin Morgan on 27. England need 52 from 30 balls. Pakistan look well set here to defend. Unless Morgan and Root change things around. And soon.

FOUR!

Joe Root changes his bat and immediately reaps benefits. Shuffles to Hasan Ali and pummels it straight down the ground. No one at long off to cut that off.

SIX! FOUR! FOUR!

With required rate reaching 10 and over, England need to get a move on. Eoin Morgan steps up and smacks a six and a boundary to Faheem Ashraf. Miscommunication in the deep allows the ball to cross the boundary rope. Next two boundaries have less luck written on them. One to deep square leg and then to deep extra cover.

Caught behind? GONE!

Imad Wasim with a delivery well outside leg stump to James Vince. He tried to play it down the leg side but doesn't get enough bat on it. Pakistan go up appealing for a caught behind with neat work by Sarfraz. UltraEdge shows slightest spike. But is that of the ball grazing the bat or the bat touching the pitch? England lose the review. Vince is gone for 36 from 27 balls. England are 66/2 after 9 overs

England 48/1 after powerplay

Joe Root with a boundary off Shaheen Afridi to steer England to 48/1 after the powerplay overs.

WICKET!

Duckett walks! He is disappointed with the shot. Bows his head and walks back to the dugout. Dismissed for 9 and Pakistan get their first wicket. Created room and looked to attack Shaheen Afridi. But gets the toe end of the bat and hits it straight at Imad Wasim stationed at mid-off. England are 21/1

England underway

Ben Duckett and James Vince open the batting for England. Shaheen Afridi and Faheem Ashraf share the ball.

FOUR! FOUR!

Imad Wasim adds two boundaries from the final two deliveries. First one is hit straight down towards long off. Next one is flicked away from the pads. Beats the fine leg fielder. 16 runs from the final over. Pakistan finish on 173/6

GONE!

Faheem Ashraf looks to go over the mid-off region but loses control of the bat and he ends up splicing it straight to the fielder at sweeper cover. Change of pace doing the magic there.

SIX!

Chris Jordan bowling the final over. Went for the yorker but it is converted into a low fulltoss by Faheem Ashraf. Goes through with the swing and it sees the ball soar into the long off stand.

RUN OUT!

Another one gone for Pakistan and this attempted surge at the death is going horribly. Asif Ali departs for 3 from 3 balls. Hit straight back to Jordan, tried to take a one-handed catch, but the ball drops behind him, Jordan was quick to spot that Asif was nowhere near the crease and he disturbed the stumps in a flash. Pakistan are five down

RUN OUT!

Now the other well set batsman in Babar Azam has to walk back. Jofra Archer struck with the ball earlier and now he makes the most of his athleticism to get rid of Azam. He inside-edged the pull onto his pad and the ball rolled into the leg-side. They looked to steal a quick single but denied by Archer and a direct hit at the non-striker's end. Azam gone for 65 from 42 balls.

GONE!

England needed a wicket, badly, and new man Jofra Archer delivers. Haris Sohail falls for 50 from 36 balls. Banged in short, it's a half-tracker and Haris Sohail had all the time to muscle the pull for a six. Instead he miscues it off the toe-end and picks out Willey at deep mid-wicket. Pakistan are 134/3

FIFTY!

Haris Sohail brings up his ffity now. Getting there after 34 balls. Five boundaries and a six in his inning. Five overs to go, how many will Pak get?

Babar Azam completes half-century

After smashing Joe Denly for consecutive sixes, Babar Azam pushes the ball around the corner for a single to bring up his half-century. A splendid inning under pressure.

PAK bring up their 100

This partnership between Sohail and Azam looks dangerous and England skipper Eoin Morgan has gone back to his strike bowlers in a bid to break it. The duo have so far added 71 runs in just 44 deliveries as Pakistan edge-past the 100 run mark.

Haris Sohail and Babar Azam are regaining control

After losing a couple of early wickets, Haris Sohail and Babar Azam are regaining control as Pakistan reach 81/2 at the halfway mark. Sohail is playing on 35 from 22 balls, while his partner is on 30 in the exact number of deliveries.

50 up for PAK!

Haris Sohail smashes Chris Jordan for a SIX over the deep mid-wicket area and then goes on to fetch another boundary towards the deep backward point to bring up the fifty for Pakistan. Good over from the visitors perspective as 15 runs come off it.

End of powerplay

England pacers have so far been at the top of their game as PAK reach 38/2 at the end of powerplay. Spin has been introduced as Adil Rashid comes into the attack.

WICKET!

Jofra Archer is introduced in the attack and he strikes in his first over. A short delivery coming straight towards Imam-ul-Haq and the batsman fails to handle the pace. Tries to duck it but gets a thickish outside edge, which is comfortably collected by Ben Foakes. Imam departs after scoring 7 from 10 balls.

FOUR!

A short-pitched delivery by David Willey and Babar Azam connects it right at middle of the willow. A classical drive as the ball races towards the extra-cover boundary.

WICKET!

After getting smashed for two boundaries already, Tom Curran strikes in the final ball of the over. The width was there but Fakhar Zaman fails to find the gap as Eoin Morgan takes a stunning one-handed catch to send the opener back to the pavilion. The batsman departs after scoring 7 from 6 balls.

First boundary of the match

Tom Curran comes into the attack and Fakhar Zaman welcomes him with a boundary. Plenty of width offered by the bowler and gets the treatment it deserves. A well-timed drive square on the off-side. First boundary of the match

HERE WE GO!

Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam are out in the middle to start the Pakistani innings. David Willey will start the proceedings for the hosts.
