The surprises continued at the Munich Open on Sunday, as Italy’s Matteo Berrettini beat fourth seed Roberto Bautista Agut 6-4, 6-2 to reach the final of the ATP clay court tournament.
Berrettini, who reached a career-high ranking of 37 after winning the Hungarian Open last month, can win a third career ATP title in Munich.
The 23-year-old Italian will face fellow surprise package Cristian Garin in the final on Sunday afternoon (1330 GMT), playing back-to-back matches after his semi-final was postponed due to rain.
Chilean Garin upset world number three Alexander Zverev and third seed Marco Cecchinato on his way to the final.
