Bharatiya Janata Party State president B.S. Yeddyurappa said on Sunday that anything is likely to happen to the Janata Dal (S)-Congress coalition government once the election results are out on May 23.

Mr. Yeddyurappa told presspersons here that discontent among legislators of the Congress and the JD(S) was increasing and it may explode any time after the byelection. He claimed that nearly 20 Congress MLAs had expressed displeasure about the style of functioning of Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy.

Differences between the Congress and the JD(S) would widen further and the coalition would rupture after declaration of the Lok Sabha results. People of the State too are fed up with the poor performance of the State government, he alleged. Mr. Yeddyurappa, who was here to campaign for S.I. Chikkanagoudar, the BJP candidate in the bypoll to Kundagol Assembly constituency, said his party would win the byelection to Chincholi and Kundagol Assembly seats. The BJP will also win 22 Lok Sabha seats, he added.

Meanwhile, BJP leader K.S. Eshwarappa alleged that the Congress has become a divided house owing to caste politics of former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He is a major threat to the coalition government, he alleged.
