Bihar: Woman, son arrested for consuming liquor

PATNA: A woman and her son were arrested from their residence on the premises of Neema Palace apartment under the Gandhi Maidan police station area in the state capital on charges of consuming liquor late on Saturday night.
SHO of Gandhi Maidan police station Sunil Kumar said the woman was identified as Karuna Sharan (61) and her son as Rajnish Sharan (36).
He said a 180ml tetra pack of India-made foreign liquor (IMFL) was recovered from the possession of the woman and a 375ml IMFL bottle from Rajnish. The two were sent to jail on Sunday.
“The woman is the landlady of the plot on which the apartment has been constructed. The Sharan family lives in a separate building on the same plot,” police said.
Rajnish’s wife and his two kids – a seven-year-old son and a three-year-old daughter –were also present at the house during the police raid.

“The two were consuming liquor in the balcony of the house. The passers-by noticed this and informed the police. When the police reached the apartment premises, the woman-son duo tried to hide liquor but failed,” police added.
According to police, Rajnish works as a computer teacher at a private institute in Patna.
