Vadodara: Burglars broke into a house in Akota sometime between Friday evening and Saturday morning and escaped with cash and ornaments worth Rs2.8 lakh.
Police said owner of the house Parvez Multani and his family members were away in Navsari when the theft took place. Multani and his family members had left on Friday evening for Chikhli in Navsari to attend a relative’s wedding. On Saturday morning, Multani’s neighbour Ilyas called him up to inform that his house had been broken into. Multani immediately left for Vadodara and on reaching his house, he found that things were lying scattered and cupboards and safe broken by burglars.
Multani then informed police about the incident. He told cops that Rs40,000 cash and gold and silver ornaments worth Rs2.8 lakh were missing from the safe. A case of burglary was registered at JP Road police station late on Saturday night.
