Ludhiana: The Ludhiana police registered three FIRs at Division 6, relating to
illegal posters of political parties being pasted in some areas of the city.
The first case — under Section 127-A of the Representation of People Act, 1951 — was registered on the complaint of Pankaj Kumar, in-charge flying squad, against an unknown person. Pankaj said political posters of Congress were put up at Chet Singh Nagar without any permission from the election office. Another case was registered against an unknown person for putting up posters of Lok Insaf Party (LIP) at Chet Singh Nagar.
A third case was registered on the complaint of Rohit Kumar, superintendent of Municipal Corporation Zone C, against an unknown Tata Ace driver. Rohit said the driver was selling posters carrying pictures of the Prime Minister in Ludhiana South constituency. Police officials said efforts were on to identify the unknown persons booked in the cases.
