‘Avengers: Endgame’ Passes $2 Billion Mark in Second Weekend

(Bloomberg) -- Walt Disney Co.’s epic “Avengers: Endgame” surpassed the $2 billion mark in ticket sales in its second weekend in theaters, showing fans can’t get enough of the superhero mashup. It’s now one of only five films ever to cross that threshold and is the second-highest grossing movie of all time.

  • The Marvel feature brought in $145.8 million in U.S. and Canadian theaters this weekend, researcher Comscore Inc. estimated Sunday in an email. That just missed the second-weekend record of $149.2 million held by “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” another film from the Disney stable. Analysts were predicting about $153 million in revenue for “Endgame” over the three days.
