'Leave him mate… he's disabled you idiot': Disgraceful moment AFL fan attacks a vulnerable Hawthorn supporter as others beg him to stop

A footy fan has been caught on camera attacking a vulnerable AFL supporter while onlookers watch on in horror and scream for him to stop.
The disturbing footage, obtained by Nine, came after the Demons beat Hawthorn Hawks by five points at the MCG on Saturday night.
The men exchanged words before the Demons supporter lunged at the defenceless Hawthorn fan - punching his face and then pulling him to the ground.
'Leave him mate, leave him,' one man could be heard screaming in the video.
'He's f***ing disabled, you idiot,' shouted another.

Onlookers rushed in to break up the fight as it began to spiral out of control.
Fellow Hawthorn supporters then broke up the scuffle and help the man to his feet.

Victoria Police said that a 34-year-old man had been interviewed over the assault.
'The man is expected to be charged on summons with assault related offences,' a spokesperson said.
'Police are still to identify the victim who had left the venue prior to their arrival.'

Panel members from the Sunday Footy Show said that the alleged suspect should not only have his membership cancelled but should be banned from seeing the game.
Former Richmond star Nathan Brown said football fans needed to learn about the very permanent and serious consequences of one-punch attacks.
'If that poor young guy hits his head on the concrete, which is concrete all around, he could die,' he said.
'It is a life-threatening thing. People just aren't getting it. Unfortunately, it seems to be middle aged males and we just don't get it. I think we need to.'
