Tornado warnings sounded sirens Sunday night, as reports of a storm carrying funnel clouds swept across the Hutchinson area.

The National Weather Service reports that severe weather warnings are likely to continue through Wednesday, as stormy conditions persist. More thunderstorms are in the forecast over the next three days.

"We're seeing a pretty active pattern that appears to have a multi-day threat of severe storms," said Roger Martin of the National Weather Service office in Wichita.

Confirmed sightings of tornadoes began just before 7 p.m., as the National Weather Service confirmed a tornado near Raymond, 11 miles east of Sterling, moving slowly to the southeast.

Extensive tree damage and power outages were reported in Ellinwood, Martin said.

As the storm moved through Reno County, tornadoes were reported east of Nickerson, around Plainview and Partridge and warnings of sighted tornadoes continued into the Haven area by 9 p.m.

Strong winds, hail and heavy rains causing flooding on Hutchinson's streets, including around the Sports Arena, also were reported.

Martin said the weather service also received reports of baseball-sized hail in some areas.
