Continues.## the 21st annual cinco de mayo celebration took place at the community and skate park in corning today.

Hundreds gathered at the corning community park today to enjoy a variety of different activities at the annual cinco de mayo fiesta.

The free event was put on by the latino outreach program of tehama county in collaboration with many sponsors and local organizations.

Sot:jess elshere/ board president: the latino outreach is a connector group, we're out to connect the latino community with all of the services available, so that we can close the gap and disparities we have in education, job opportunities, health care coverages, and make our community whole again.

And not just the latino community -- they're there for everybody.

The celebration had food trucks, bounce houses, fun activities for the kids, local vendors, and live performances, including a performance from a young selena fan.

Sot: karen kemp & emilee kemp/ attendees emily was singing so it was important to come and support her and her heritage and she is a huge selena fan, our favorite part was the food... stand/kristian lopez: organizers say this event also helps connect the community with many different local resources.

Sot: officer omar valdez/chp: we are trying to promote no drinking and driving, no texting and driving, anthing like that.

We understand this is cinco de mayo weekend and we understand that people like to induldge in alcoholic beverages and we just want to remind everyone that drinking and driving is illegal and dangerous.
