Renowned playback singer S Janaki, who was admitted to a private hospital in Mysuru where she underwent a surgery for the back injury she suffered recently, was discharged on Saturday.

She was under treatment for the last three days, before she underwent the surgery and discharged later from the hospital on Saturday evening.
Speaking to media after discharge, she said that she was keeping well, and said that doctors had advised her rest for 21 days.
Dr Nithan, who performed the surgery, said that a joint replacement operation was performed on Janaki. As a result of her age, she had broken her joint and said she will recover after three weeks.
Janaki to her credit has sung over 48,000 songs in 17 languages. She had recently announced retirement from the music field.
Janaki, who lives in the city, had arrived in Mysuru on a personal visit and was staying at a relative’s farmhouse, when she slipped and
fell, suffering a back injury as a result.
