Passengers travelling on local trains on the Central Railway (CR) network were inconvenienced on Sunday owing to maintenance blocks, which were operated on its main and harbour lines.

A maintenance block was operated between Kalyan and Thane on the fast line towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT). The block was operated from 11.20am to 3.50pm.

“The train compartments and platforms were overcrowded. The slow locals towards CSMT were also operating with delays,” said Ankita Singh, a Vikhroli resident.

On the harbour network, the block was operated on both the lines between Wadala Road and Mankhurd from 11.10am to 4.10pm

No maintenance block was operated on the Western Railway on Sunday.
