The academic council of Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) has passed a resolution to increase B.Sc (honours) agriculture seats from 563 to 663 under payment and NRI-sponsored quota.
Vice-Chancellor of PJTSAU Praveen Rao, who chaired the academic council meeting, said 75 seats would be filled under payment quota and the remaining 25 seats would be filled under the NRI-sponsored quota.
The payment seats would be filled as per the government norms and based on the marks secured in the Telangana EAMCET.
The seats under payment and NRI quota would be filled after getting the final approval from the State government. The seats have been increased in view of the growing demand for B.Sc (honours) agriculture seats.
The academic council has also given the approval for reintroduction of the PG programme in statistics and mathematics at the college of agriculture, Rajendrangar, and has also approved reduction of seats in agriculture polytechnic course from 330 to 220.
