Grandmaster staged a spirited comeback to hold German GM to a draw while top seed also had to be careful to hold Iranian GM to a draw in the second round of tournament underway here.

Fourteen-year-old played the Sicilian Sveshnikov for the first time in his career with the black pieces and Nisipeanu saw an opportunity to win a pawn on the 28th move. The 7 round Category 17 event takes place from May 3-10. GM of Swedeb and GM Gawain Jones of England have sprinted into the early lead with 1.5/2 while Nihal and at 1.0/2.

Harikrishna faces GM in round 3 with the black pieces and Nihal will play against Jones where the former will play white.
