Fire in Punjab Sports factory in Ambala Cantonment industrial area

AMBALA: A major fire incident gutted items worth lakhs of rupees at plot number 7 of Punjab Sports factory in Ambala Cantonment industrial area under Mahesh Nagar police station of Ambala district. The fire was controlled by the fire department and nobody has received any injuries.
The factory workers said the fire spread from the first floor to second floor within a short period of time.
On receiving the information, the fire department deployed five firefighting vehicles to control the situation at the factory. However, due to presence of chemicals, the fire spread very fast.
The fire officials first rescued the factory workers.
SHO Mahesh Nagar, inspector Ajaib Singh said, “We received the information about the fire incident in the industrial area of Ambala Cantonment and a team was sent to the spot and no report or complaint of any injury is received."
Amar Singh, fire officer from Ambala Cantonment said, “We received the information at around 12.35pm about a fire incident in the industrial area and five fire brigade vehicless were deployed to control the situation. The cause of fire is not known yet.”
