Opposition loses balance, start blaming EC and EVMs for imminent defeat: PM

Ramnagar (West Champaran), Three days after United Nations declared as ‘Global terrorist’, the chief of Pakistan based terror outfit ‘Jaish-e-Mohammad ‘ Masood Azhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said the opposition parties have lost balance sensing their imminent defeat in Lok Sabha elections, saying they are now finding escape routes by blaming EVMs and Election Commission while earlier they used to target only him.

Mr Modi, while addressing a massive public meeting here at Ramnagar near Bagaha in Valmikinagar Lok Sabha constituency, seeking votes in favour of NDA candidates, said that opposition parties including Congress used to target him during earlier phases of Lok Sabha elections but the direction of their guns shifted in last three days.

They had now started targetting EVMs and Election Commission which indicated their imminent defeats in Lok Sabha elections as he was only being partly targetted presently, he remarked.

Prime Minister said that reasons being cited by opposition parties to express their apprehension on the result of Lok Sabha elections were like those of students who did not fare well in the examination due to their poor preparedness.

With the progress of Lok Sabha elections, opposition parties were heading towards crushing defeats and earlier their leaders used to dream to become Prime Minister but now their struggle appeared to be for the post of leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha, he added.

Mr Modi said that his government was committed to wiping out terrorism with iron hand and all possible efforts were being made to achieve the goal while on the other hand, Congress was virtually promising to give free hand to terrorists and stone pelters in Jammu and Kashmir by assuring in its manifesto to reduce the number of security forces deployed in the terror struck state.

Congress had also promised to repeal the Armed Forces Special Power Act in Jammu and Kashmir, he said, adding that a party which remained in power for about seventy years in the country, was now making such kind of promise which made him anguished.
