P.K. Fazal Gafoor, president of Muslim Educational Society (MES), has lodged a complaint with the Kozhikode city police seeking an investigation into a fake Facebook account created in his name to spread objectionable messages.
In the complaint submitted to the District Police Chief (Kozhikode city) on Friday, Dr. Gafoor said that he was not having any Facebook account.
Dr. Gafoor who submitted the copies of the fake posts as well to the police requested their technical support to immediately remove it from the virtual space and track its origin.
The details of a threatening call he received on his phone on May 3 too were handed over to the police for a separate investigation. Dr. Gafoor said the man used very harsh and threatening words over the issuance of the circular.
