CHANDIGARH: CBSE declared Rishabh Manuja studying in
DC Montessori School,
Manimajra as the Tricity topper in medical stream with 98%. He could not be identified on Thursday as his stream had been wrongly mentioned by the staff. He has raised the bar in medical stream in the Tricity by scoring higher than last years’ topper. The medical topper in 2018 had scored 97.6%.
Rishabh aims to do research on personalized medicine. He used to study for four to five hours every day, after his school and coaching. He scored 97 marks in physics, 100 marks in chemistry, 100 in
biology, 98 in physical education and 95 in English.
To crack boards, he used to solve CBSE sample paper a day before the exam. “It helped me in time management while attempting the papers,” he said. His father Manoj Manuja works at an IT firm in Bangalore and mother Rashmi Manuja is a homemaker. His inspiration comes from his grandmother. To relieve stress he used to cycle every day.
This development pushed Chetanya Mittal who scored 97.8% to second position. Besides coaching and school, he studied for four hours daily and wants to join AIIMS. His inspiration comes from his father. “My both parents have inspired me, but my father, a doctor, has been my role model. His humility and humbleness and the way he talks about his interesting cases motivated me to take up medical stream.”
He wishes to go for civil services or social works as well.
In medical stream the third place has been taken by Aditi Singla, a student of Shishu Niketan Model Senior Secondary School Sector 22, with 97.4% marks. Her prime focus is to clear the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2019 scheduled on May 5.
She thanked her parents, teachers and principal of the school for her terrific achievement. She also took private tuitions, apart from 6-7 hours of every day self-study. In her spare time, she likes playing piano and dancing is a perfect stress buster for her. She had scored 10 CGPA in Class X.
She desires to pursue a career in medical field and aspires to be a cardiologist. Her father is a government contractor, while her mother is a home maker.
