HYDERABAD: A software engineer and a youth, arrested previously in a drug case, were apprehended from a high-end apartment in Ameenpur on Saturday as they were found to be trading in
liquid ganja. Vigilance and enforcement officials seized two litres of
ganja oil worth Rs 7.8 lakh.
Liquid ganja is an extract of oil from ganja leaves and even a drop of it on a cigarette can give a narco effect. At a press conference, the officials said techie BA Govind of Ameenpur and Murali Krishna Susheel, a resident of Chaitanyapuri, were arrested after a raid on the apartment.
During the interrogation, police came to know that Susheel purchases the oil in bulk and sells it in Bengaluru. The duo bought the oil from Kamlesh Kumar of Visakhapatnam in AP where it is sold in small bottles. A 10 ml is sold for Rs 3,000.
Police said Susheel was arrested in a drug-related case. Cops are on the lookout for Kamlesh. The duo was booked under sections of NDPS Act.
