Captain Manprit Juneja (104 not out) scored an unbeaten century as Alwarpet (205 for five) moved closer to Grand Slam’s first innings total of 298 on day two of the TNCA First Division League semi-final at the SSN College Ground here on Friday.
Continuing on its overnight score of 248 for seven, Grand Slam added another 50 runs. In reply, Alwarpet made 205 at sumps on the second day. Juneja was the star of the show with the bat, making 104 runs. His knock included 14 boundaries and a single six.
