AHMEDABAD: A 53-year-old man from the
Naroda area of the city, who retired from the
Indian Army, on Thursday filed a complaint at Krishnanagar police, stating that his son knifed him when he asked him to repay the Rs 2.70 lakh that he had borrowed three years ago.
Raman Chauhan, a resident of
Govardhan Society on the Nikol-Naroda road, stated that he had lent Rs 2.70 lakh to his son, Gajendra, who is 30 and lives in Sola with his family, as he was unemployed. Whenever Raman, who retired from the Army in 1999, asked for the money, his son would allegedly threaten him, the FIR states.
On Thursday, Raman called his son and two daughters to talk about the money. When Raman asked for the money, Gajendra got angry and verbally abused him. When Raman confronted him, Gajendra pushed him down, pulled out a knife from his pocket and slashed Raman on his right hand. As Raman began bleeding severely, Gajendra fled, the FIR states. Raman then approached Krishnanagar police and filed an FIR for assault and criminal intimidation against his son.
In another case, a 78-year-old woman, Vijaya Pitroda, a resident of Rabari Colony near Amraiwadi, on Thursday filed a complaint for assault and criminal intimidation against her son Dinesh (42) and daughter-in-law Urvashi (40), who allegedly pushed her out of her own home when she asked for money to get medical treatment for her eye, on Wednesday.
Vijaya said that Dinesh and Urvashi threatened her if she does not name them her heirs in her will and bequeath the house to her. Vijaya was rescued by her other daughter-in-law,
Daksha and grandson, Rahul. She then filed a complaint of assault and criminal intimidation against Dinesh and Urvashi.
