Kareena Kapoor Khan is super excited to be a part of Irrfan Khan starrer Angrezi Medium. The film is a sequel to 2017 hit Hindi Medium which also starred Irrfan in the lead role. The actor kickstarted the shoot last month in Udaipur and unlike Hindi Medium, its sequel is being helmed by Homi Adajania. Talking about Kareena's role in the film, she will be seen as a cop which is a first for the actor.

Earlier it was reported that Kareena will start shooting for Angrezi Medium in June, but she will get on the sets on May 15, 2019, itself. Talking about it, a source stated to Mumbai Mirror, "Kareena has started prep for Angrezi Medium. Since she’s playing a cop for the first time, she’s been discussing her character with director Homi Adajania. She will shoot in Mumbai for around a week before the team flies to London in June where a big chunk will be shot. She is not romantically paired with Irrfan but has an important role in the narrative."

When asked about Angrezi Medium by Rajeev Masand, Bebo said, "Not a romantic pairing with Irrfan Khan. It's a small but interesting role. I wanted to get out of my comfort zone that would throw me into the film milieu. It's all a different world to be part of, so that's interesting."

Meanwhile, producer Dinesh Vijan spoke about Kareena to Hindustan Times. He stated, "Kareena is a great addition to our franchise! Angrezi Medium is a very special film, and I’m excited that she’s going to be a part of it. We wanted to introduce this character who would be taken forward in the franchisees to come, and she’s perfect for it."
