Following the aftermath of bombings in Sri Lanka and alerts received from various intelligence unit, the security has been beefed up as a part of the security arrangements at religious places, tourist spots and other key locations including the railway station and bus stand. A team of security force also inspected the Big temple in Thanjavur on Friday.

Around 9.45 am, the police team led by DSP Vasanthan conducted inspection at Big temple in Thanjavur.
It is said that the officials have also planned to increase the number of CCTV cameras in the premises. Later, a meeting was also by officers held with officials of ASI, temple authorities, Fire and Rescue Department and other officials. Sources said, a report on the arrangements would be sent to the government.
