Gurgaon: A Kukrola village resident has been booked for allegedly raping a 25-year-old
woman in her house on Thursday afternoon.
The woman, who resides in the same village with her husband, told police that the crime happened when she was alone at home as her husband had gone to the nearby market to buy groceries.
“On Thursday afternoon, our neighbour — Naveen Yadav — came to our house and said that he had made lassi which he wanted to share with us. He sat down and enquired about my husband. When I told him that my husband wasn’t home and it would take him some time to return, Naveen started making sexual advances towards me. When I objected, he started abusing me and then raped me. He also used
casteist remarks against me and my family members. He threatened me to keep shut or else he would harm us,” the woman said.
However, the woman confided in her husband after he returned home, following which the couple approached the police.
An FIR was registered against Naveen Yadav under Section 376 (
rape) of the IPC and Section 3(1) of the SC/ST Act at women’s police station in Manesar.
“An FIR has been registered and we are investigating the charges. The accused has been absconding since the incident was reported,” said spokesperson for the Gurgaon police Subhash Boken.
