Murder case registered 10 months after 16-year-old's death

AMBALA: Ambala police have registered a case of murder against four identified accused 10 months after the mysterious death of a man Taranjit Singh (16) of Jharmarhi village in Mohali district. Taranjit was found dead on June 11, 2018, near Sadopur village under limits of Baldev Nagar police station of Ambala district.
Taranjit had gone missing on June 7, 2018, when he had left home with livestock for grazing. A missing report in this regard was also lodged at Lalru police station.
Now after a period of 10 months, Ranbir Singh (Taranjit's father) filed a complaint with the Haryana Director General of Police at his Panchkula office, following which the murder case has been registered at Baldev Nagar police station. Ranbir stated the Ambala police did not share with the family the investigation proceedings of the case from the angle of murder despite there were key evidence available.
On May 3, on the complaint of Ranbir Singh, the Ambala police registered a case against Krishan Lal of Hukmawali village in Fatehabad district, Gursewak Singh and his sons Rasmeet Singh and Davinder Singh of Jharmarhi village in Mohali district under Section 302 (punishment for murder) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC at the Baldev Nagar police station.
As per the First Information Report (FIR) registered on May 3, Ranbir stated, “My son Taranjit had gone missing on June 7, 2018, and report in the regard was lodged at Lalru police station. On June 11, 2018, his body was found from near Sadopur village in Ambala and on June 12, 2018, his post-mortem and last rites were conducted with the assistance of Ambala police. On June 12, 2018, some of my relatives had visited the spot near New Motor Petrol Pump in Sadopur from where Taranjit’s body was recovered and they had found a dairy and pen belonging to Krishan Lal and we had submitted the photocopy of the same to Baldev Nagar police station and kept the original diary and pen with us. ASI Somprakash acting on our complaint arrested Krishan Lal and recorded his statements but did not disclose the proceedings of the case with us and neither did they involve us in the investigation.”
"My son was killed because of a scuffle with Gursewak. Krishan’s diary and pen were found from the crime scene.”

Ambala City DSP Ajit Kumar said, “Earlier the proceedings under section 174 CrPC and an enquiry was conducted in this case. As per our information, the accused named in this FIR Krishan Lal has expired. Now as the higher officials have instructed to register a case in this matter, so a fresh investigation will be conducted from all the angles and role of three named accused of Jharmarhi village will be ascertained. A case of murder is registered.”
Ranbir said, “We have confirmed from our enquiry and sources that Krishan Lal is still alive and Gursewak and his family had murdered my minor son following a rivalry.”
