You’ve Never Seen Something Like This Nissan Silvia Pickup

The Nissan Silvia (sold as the 240SX in the U.S.) is one of the Japanese car manufacturer’s most recognizable vehicles, and in S14-guise, is particularly popular throughout the tuning industry. While you could say the following example has been ‘tuned’, the truth is that it has been so heavily modified that it can barely be considered a Silvia anymore.

This car was listed for sale on Craigslist back in 2016, and while we don’t know what’s happened to it since, it recently re-emerged on Reddit. We’re still not sure how to feel about it.

For starters, the whole idea of a Silvia pickup truck makes no sense. Why on earth would anyone want to turn a perfectly good sports car into a pickup? Evidently, the owner of the car never had that thought and went about making one of the most radical automotive transformations imaginable.

The process of turning this Silvia into a pickup required much of the car’s roof to be lopped off. We suspect this has had an adverse impact on the structural integrity of the car, but for what it’s worth, the owner appears to have done quite a good job at altering the roof and fitting an upright rear window. Modifications are completed with the bed itself which, despite the Silvia’s relatively small size, actually appears to be reasonably large and practical.

To go along with the new body style, the owner overhauled the car’s suspension and fitted a set of huge off-road wheels and tires. The finished item looks more like something out of a Mad Max movie – and while we would never transform a Silvia into a pickup, we have to commend the owner as the conversion seems to have been done quite well.
