Help centres set up for the benefit of aspirants

The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has made elaborate arrangements for the conduct of the screening test for Group-II Service on May 5 (Sunday) at 727 centres across the 13 districts of the State.

In a statement issued on Friday, commission’s Secretary A.K. Maurya said a total of 2,95,036 candidates applied for the posts. Of them, 2 lakh candidates downloaded their hall-tickets from the commission’s website. Staff had been deputed at all the district headquarters, and help centres were set up to help candidates overcome problems if any.

Mr. Maurya advised the candidates to visit the examination centres one day in advance to avoid last minute confusion.

Location of a few venues were revised and candidates had been alerted about it through SMS sent to their mobile numbers. The list of the venues and the helpline numbers are available on the commission’s website: www.psc.ap.gov.in.

Candidates would be allowed to enter the centre from 9 a.m. Nobody would be permitted after 9.45 a.m. The candidates should carry their identity proof in original, said the statement.

The APPSC also invited online applications for departmental tests for May 2019 session, from May 6 to 21. The last date for payment of fee is May 20 (11.59 p.m.) and the tests are scheduled from June 13 to June 18.
