At 17 years and 175 days, Riyan Parag became the youngest cricketer to score an IPL fifty during Delhi Capitals vs Rajasthan Royals match on Saturday.
Parag overtook his Royals teammate Sanju Samson as the youngest batsman to maiden IPL fifty. Samson achieved the feat when he was 18 years old.
Parag struck Trent Boult for a six in the 20th over to reach the landmark. Parag struck two sixes and four fours in 50 off 49 balls before getting out on the final ball of Rajasthan's innings.
Parag had come close to breaking the record in two previous matche scoring 47 both times. He has been one of most promising talents to emerge in this year's IPL.
