RERA Act has brought new change in real estate sector: de Sa

Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, The MP Real Estate (Regulatory and Development) Rules 2016 (RERA Act) completed two years of its existence on May 1.In these two years, the RERA has achieved stability and continuity in Madhya Pradesh.

MP RERA has made a distinct identity with its work style and achievements in the country. This involves the relentless labour and cooperation of officials and employees of the Authority. Nearly 70 percent of the complaints received by RERA have been settled, the rest are in progress. 80 percent of the decisions have been made in the consumer’s favour.

This was stated by RERA Chairman, Antony de Sa at a programme organized at RERA Bhavan on the occasion of the Foundation Day. He said that the RERA Act has brought a new change in the real estate sector of the state.

So far, in the two years of RERA’s tenure, about 2165 projects and 533 agents have been registered. The Authority has received about 3000 complaints.

Of these, 1805 complaints have been resolved. This has facilitated the customers who purchase buildings. In case of non-compliance with RERA Act, the allottee can receive payment and compensation, including interest from them. Other complaints including non-receipt of allotment accommodation can be lodged online on the Authority website www.rera.mp.gov.in.

In addition to Bhopal, circuit camps are held by RERA in Indore, Gwalior and Jabalpur also with a view to facilitate parties. Complaints are also being heard by the Authority daily at RERA HQ, Bhopal.
