LUCKNOW: More than a dozen flights arrived and departed late from the Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport here after a severe tropical
cyclone Fani made a landfall on the eastern coast of the country on Friday.
According to airport officials, AI9691 Jaipur-Lucknow, WY261 Oman Air and IX194 Dubai-Lucknow were delayed by two hours each.
Bad weather also led to cancellation of two trains, while 25 trains bound to West Bengal, Bihar and Orrisa were delayed by more than 10 hours on Friday. While Howrah-Amritsar Mail and Intercity Express were cancelled, Barauni AC Express arrived late at Lucknow junction by over 10 hours. Other trains such as Lokmanyatilak Express was delayed by six hours, followed by Sabarmati Express six hours, Kamakhya Express five hours, Upasana Express four hours and Sadhbhawna Express three hours.
