Last month, Shruti Haasan and her beau Michael Corsale parted ways after two years of courtship. According to sources, there was no acrimony between the duo and they remain best friends. However, on the professional front, the lighted-eyed actress-singer is focussing on her musical career now than ever before.
Just yesterday, the title track of Tamil actor Vikram’s forthcoming film, Kadaram Kondan, was released, which has been sung by Shruti. Earlier this week, the team of Kadaram Kondan announced that the film’s first single would be released on May 1 and asked fans to guess who the singer was. On April 29, the 33-year-old artiste posted a video on social media saying, ‘Yes its me!! How excited are you for this one?’ (sic) and tagged other artistes associated with the film.
Over the last few months, the light-eyed performer has been collaborating with Grammy-nominated music producer Dan Lancaster, who has worked with the likes of Blink-182 and Avril Lavigne, on her music album. She recently mentioned in an interview that many people had advised her to retrace her connection with music as she had started her career with it. As a result, after being in the movies for 10 years, she decided to dedicate time to writing songs and composing music. She admitted that it has been a wonderful journey for her and helped her discover a lot of things about herself.
Since some time, Shruti has been performing at various venues in London. Apart from showcasing her vocal skills to a live audience at The Ned, a five-star hotel, this January, she enthralled listeners at The Troubadour London, a historic live music venue in the UK capital. Videos of both the acts were making the rounds of social media. Apparently, the svelte actress has another gig coming up in London in the first week of May.
