TENALI: Stating that Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) are developing the children as all-rounders, district collector Kona Sasidhar has said that KVs are jewels among the country’s educational institutions. He said that teachers in KVs impart ethical values along with academics helping the students become responsible future citizens.
District collector Sasidhar along with rural SP Rajasekhar Babu inaugurated the new building block at KV at China Ravuru village on the outskirts of Tenali town late on Wednesday. The new block was constructed with a cost of Rs.16.5 crore in an area of five acres.
Speaking on the occasion, Sasidhar said that Tenali KV would become an important educational institution in the near future as it was located close to the new capital city Amaravati. He said that students in KVs would experience pressure free environment during their study. He said that students and parents should always keep faith in the teachers. Collector asked the students to follow five principles to succeed in life. “Students should keep trust in the teacher, get ready to resolve the issues from time to time, one should realize that inner beauty is important than outer beauty, ready to accept the mistakes and take corrective measures, and teachers and parents should make students not to get bogged in the ranks and competitions” collector advised.
He said that parents should also realize that ranks and marks alone would not help their wards succeed in life. He said the parents should not exert pressure on the children to realize their own dreams. He said that children would become real champions only when they were allowed to pursue their dreams. He said that teachers should focus on imparting moral values and ethics to the children right from the childhood.
Rural district SP Rajasekhar Babu said that CBSE curriculum followed by the KVs would help the students in cracking the civil services examinations in future. He asked the teachers to encourage the students to try their hand in research and innovations. He said that successive attempts with experiments would make the students realize the mistakes and achieve the goals.
District collector and SP planted saplings in the school campus and distributed prizes to the students who excelled in sports, games and quiz competitions. RDO Cherukuri Rangaiah, principal Prasada Rao, municipal commissioner Venkata Krishna were also present.
