Elderly man killed a car hits bicycle in Delhi's Civil Lines area

A 65-year-old man was killed after a car rammed into his bicycle in north Delhi's Civil Lines area, said Thursday.

The accident took place on Wednesday night when the victim took a right turn from a signal and the car, which was coming from the opposite direction, rammed into his bicycle, a senior said.

The car was coming from Vidhan Sabha area and was on way to IP college in Civil Lines, he said.

Prakash Tiwari, a resident of P&T Colony in Civil Lines, was rushed to the Trauma Centre, where he was declared brought dead by doctors, said.

A case under Sections 279 (rash driving) and 304 (punishment for not amounting to murder) of the IPC was registered at Civil the station and the accused, identified as Saxena, was arrested, the said.

Saxena, a resident of Gandhi Nagar, was working as a for the past six months, he added.
