Delhi: Notice to Arvind Kejriwal on BJP leader's complaint

NEW DELHI: The Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi sent a notice to AAP's national convenor Arvind Kejriwal based on a complaint filed by BJP leader Vijender Gupta.

In his complaint, Gupta, leader of the opposition in Delhi Assembly, alleged that Kejriwal is getting pamphlets distributed in JJ colonies, asking people to take money from BJP and Congress on the night before election but vote only for jhadu , which is the symbol of AAP.
"This is a clear case of violation of the model code of conduct, where CM Kejriwal is openly supporting bribes to influence voters to vote for his party. I therefore urge the EC to take cognisance of this complaint and imitate strict action against Kejriwal and his party for violation of the poll code of conduct (sic)," Gupta said. Kejriwal was expected to reply to the CEC by 5pm on Wednesday. AAP, however, didn't respond to TOI's requests for a comment.
