BOSTON — Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge suffered a mild heart attack in Milwaukee on Tuesday night, the team announced in a statement on Thursday.


He received immediate medical attention and is expected to make a full recovery, the statement said. He will return to Boston shortly.

He received immediate medical attention and is expected to make a full recovery, the statement said. He will return to Boston shortly. 

Ainge, 60, played for Celtics for seven seasons through the 1980s and has been the team's general manager and president of basketball operations since 2003.

The Celtics next play Friday night in Boston against the Bucks in Game 3 of their second-round playoff series, which is tied at 1-1.
