Lok Sabha elections 2019: Over 6 lakh new voters in Haryana

As many as 1,80,56,896 registered electors, including 1,05,859 service electors, will be eligible to vote. Of the total, as many as 97,16,516 are male voters, 83,40,173 are female and 207 are transgender electors.

At least 4.27 lakh voters are above the age of 80 across 10 Lok Sabha seats of Haryana where polling will be held on May 12, while three lakh electors are in the age group of 18 to 19 years.

Over 6 lakh new voters were registered in Haryana between January 31 and April 23, the deadline set by the election commission for new enrolments. Now as many as 1,80,56,896 registered electors, including 1,05,859 service electors, will be eligible to vote. Of the total, as many as 97,16,516 are male voters, 83,40,173 are female and 207 are transgender electors.

According to joint chief electoral officer Inder Jeet, as a result of systematic voters’ education and electoral participation (SVEEP) programme organised in all districts, 6,08,603 new electors have been registered in the state after January 31, 2019.

He said three lakh electors are in the age group of 18-19 years, up from 1.40 lakh as on January 31, while 38.96 lakh electors are in the age group of 20-29 years, 44.38 lakh in the age group of 30-39 years, 35.46 lakh in the age group of 40-49 years and 27.86 lakh in the age group of 50-59 years.
