In his complaint, Bhajan said: “Nearly 10 days ago, my son Manpreet told me that he became friends with Harjinder Kaur, wife of Kuldeep Singh on Facebook, and the couple had complained against my son at the women police station in Yamunanagar. We spoke to Kuldeep for a compromise. I reached Yamunanagar on April 29 with my son Manpreet, wife and brothers-in-law. While we were on the way, we received a call from Kuldeep, who told that he would meet us at Mullana bus stop. When we reached Mullana, Kuldeep along with his wife Harjinder, was present at the bus stop. We spoke to each other and the matter was sorted out. In the meantime, 7 to 8 youths came in a white car and started beating my son with sticks. When we tried to rescue Manpreet, they also thrashed us. The miscreants snatched the car keys from the driver and kidnapped Manpreet and fled with our car. After some time, we received a call from Yamunanagar women police station that our car and Manpreet had reached the police station. On April 30, around 5.15pm, Manpreet’s health started deteriorating and he succumbed to his injuries at Chawla Nursing Home in Hanumangarh.”
